New Sheriff School
This specialized training program allows the new Sheriffs to understand the basic requirements of the Office. Follow up sessions create an environment where the Association can encourage and facilitate mentors for new Sheriffs. These sessions will feature discussion panels that will allow a new Sheriff to seek guidance on issues he is facing after assuming the Office. Follow up sessions will also allow us to dive deeper in to specific issues such as formulating a mutual aid agreement or properly accounting for drug accounts.
New Sheriffs’ School will also be open to command staff members of new Sheriffs. While the Sheriff should have a firm grip on the inner-workings of his office, it is vital for the Sheriff to surround himself with people that understand the expectations and responsibilities of his office as well. Current Sheriffs and members of their command staffs are welcome to attend any or all portions of New Sheriffs’ School as well.
